First Aid Kits BC Regulated

In British Columbia, workplace first aid kit requirements are regulated by WorkSafeBC under the Occupational Health and Safety Regulation. (OHSR), Part 3. As of November 1, 2024, BC updated its workplace first aid requirements and now uses a risk-based approach aligned with CSA Z1220 First Aid Kits for the Workplace

Choosing the correct first aid kit is no longer based solely on the number of employees—it also considers workplace hazards, the type of work being performed, and access to emergency medical services.

All BC workplaces are required to complete a First Aid Assessment to determine their workplace risk level and identify the appropriate first aid equipment and supplies required.
